The Dump of a Post

I'm missing the jet lag of America. Yes, you read that right. I. Miss. Jet lag. But only the kind in America, where I wake up at 4:30 and get to witness amazing sunrises.

It's great waking up at the butt crack of dawn, especially when I'm home, because it allows me to maximize my limited amount of time there each day.

Perhaps this is why my busy-as-a-bee mother wakes up at such ridiculous hours. On a daily basis. She's just trying to maximize her limited amount of time each day. I think she has permanent jet lag. Life lag maybe?

Or maybe it's just too much stress in her life. Or maybe it's the family curse. The "Papa Curse" passed down by my grandfather (Papa) who is notorious for waking up at 3 or 4 in the morning.

Early signs of the "Papa Curse" have shown themselves on occasion in my life... pray for my future sleep situation please.

Although, maybe it won't be so bad. I definitely prefer waking up earlier than later. Since I've been back, I feel like I could sleep until the sunsets. And then I lay awake half the night trying to trick myself into thinking I'm tired and should go to sleep.

It takes a lot of discipline to get back on German time zone. Discipline like making yourself get out of bed at 8 (which is not early by any means) even if you didn't fall asleep until 2, and you woke up for an hour at 5, and your eyes refuse to open.

It's amazing how much more productive your day can be with those 4 extra early hours.

When I was home, and waking up at 4:30, I felt like I got so much done. I enjoyed a leisurely breakfast, exercised and was cleaned up by 10:00. I had the rest of the day to run errands, take care of annoying, but important things like sorting out our tax issues. I got to see friends, spend time with family and of course, wander through the wonderful world of Tar-jay.

One morning, my sister and I headed out to a new cafe in Huachuca City (Morning Brew...Sierra Vistan's you must go there!) to pick up breakfast and were back to lay out by the pool by 8:00.

It was perfect. Dirty Chai (Chai Latte+Espresso=Amazingness). Egg, ham and cheese breakfast sandwich.

Poolside. Sunshine. Sister time. Life couldn't have been better at that moment.

Little Gracie felt the same way.

Kelly...not so much. I'm 99.99% sure she battles depression.

And she doesn't always like to do what you ask her to. Like look at you so you can take her picture.

Give her a little love though and she'll give ya' a little smile.

Sort of.

I know I said in my last post, that the next post, as in this one, would be a dump of a post...but I'm gonna spare both you and me the time and end this for now.

Happy Wednesday! Find something to make you smile more than once today.
