We were remembering the hours spent getting ready.
More like minutes for Luis.
We relived the memories of friends helping us getting ready.
A Mom helping us with those final touches.
And a sister giving a hand.
We savor the moments we had to gather with friends.
Friends who loved on us, encouraged us, rejoiced with us.
Who prayed over us in those final moments before the ceremony began.
We remember the anticipation.
A moment, where details were no longer important.
Flowers no longer mattered, however beautiful they were.
A moment where there was no longer any stress to make sure that every little hair was perfectly in place.
But it didn't matter.
We were ready to promise each other for better.
To promise to rejoice with one another when dreams are reached.
To promise to cherish the moments of happiness. The moments of laughter. The moments of peace.
We were ready to promise each other for worse.
To hold steadfast and have faith and hope amidst trials.
To grieve with one another through pain, loss, and hardships.
In our two short years of marriage, we have enjoyed times of for better and endured times of for worse.
And on each mountain top and through each valley we have built an even stronger bond than we ever thought imaginable.
We are building a foundation that is strong and wide. Unmovable. That will withstand the test of time.
In a world where marriages seem to last as long as when little girls dress up and play wedding, we are grateful for the love the Lord has given us, and for the way He has grown that love deeper than we ever thought possible just two years.
Happy Two Years, Luis. Can't wait to see what the next two, ten, twenty, thirty years bring our way!
