Another nice little surprise last Sunday, my sweet husband took me to dinner at my favorite restaurant in Kaiserslautern. He even arranged for some of our friends from our old stomping grounds to be there waiting for us. Our wonderful, Jesus loving, English speaking American friends whom I dearly miss.
I love my guy. Outside of flying in my entire family, he couldn't have given me a more perfect gift.
It was a beautiful night with great conversation and incredible food. The fish. Oh how I go weak in the knees over Filippo's fish. And the pasta. Authentic, homemade noodles swirled around in a giant wheel of perfectly aged parmesan cheese. It was a beautiful night indeed.
Sorry for my lack of pictures. I was too caught up in the excitement of it all that I completely forgot to whip out my camera. I promise you though, one of these days, I will wine you and dine you with some Filippo goodness. Just you wait.
Just when I thought the night couldn't get any better, we caught this lovely sight as we pulled into our neighborhood.
So simple, so peaceful, so perfect. And the snowflakes, so enchanting.
I love this church. I love our neighborhood. I love our life. And while I am ready for spring in all of its sunshine and flowers and warmth to arrive, I love the beauty and the charm of the snow.
Unless of course it's our week to shovel. It's not so beautiful in freezing temperatures at 7 in the morning. Fortunately, the Lord has answered our prayers in the snow shoveling department and has graciously given us rain on all but two weeks when it was our turn for the Schneedienst.
And for that, and so much more, I am most grateful. Happy Friday!
